RSU to Present Review of German Military History Books
Phil Sample, a Rogers State University instructor, will discuss the history of the German General Staff and the German way of war on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the RSU Stratton Taylor Library. His lecture will also be a review of several books about the German military.
Sample will be wearing a German Army uniform for the discussion, and refreshments will be provided. This event, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 2:30 p.m. in room 207 of the library. The event is part of the RSU Literary Review Series.
He will discuss the evolution of the German Army and the Nazi General Staff while describing how the German way of war changed during WWII.
During his lecture Sample will reference several books available at the RSU library including:
Sample received a master’s degree from Northeastern State University and a bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University. He is a former U.S. Army officer, with service as an infantry and counterintelligence advisor, and as a counterintelligence operative and member of the General Staff of the U.S. Army South in Latin America.
