
NEWSOct. 12, 2004 Global Population Expert To Give Free Public Lecture at RSU Oct. 19Nationally known global population expert Werner Fornos will give a free public presentation on how world population growth impacts security, the environment and a variety of other social concerns on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Rogers State University. The event will be held at 11 a.m. in the Will Rogers Auditorium on the RSU campus in Claremore. Fornos is
president of the Population Institute, During the presentation, Fornos will discuss how the world's rapidly expanding population may affect global security and terrorism, the environment, health care and the rates of hunger, poverty and illiteracy in underdeveloped countries. His visit to RSU is part of the Educate America Campaign, a series of visits to college and university campuses, sponsored by the Population Institute. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in government and politics and is the author of the book "Gaining People, Losing Ground."
