RSU Names Nursing Instructor
Dr. Barbara Hannah has been named instructor of nursing at Rogers State University.
Hannah's appointment was approved by the University of Oklahoma Board of Regents, the governing board for RSU, at its recent meeting in Oklahoma City.
Her academic nursing specialties include medical surgical, acute care, critical care, leadership and management and adult and continuing education.
She received a doctoral degree from Oklahoma State University, master's degree from the University of Oklahoma, bachelor's degree from the University of Tulsa and an associate's degree from Rogers State University.
Previously, Hannah served as director of education at the Oklahoma Community Healthcare Alliance and manager of critical care education at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She also has served as director of nurses at the Cleveland (Okla.) Area Hospital and a consultant for St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City. In addition, she was director of clinical production at CSI Productions in Tulsa, which produced nursing education programs. She has worked as staff nurse at several hospitals in Oklahoma.
She has a long list of academic honors, awards and certifications, and has written articles for several academic journals, including the Journal of Post Anesthesia Nursing (JOPAN). She also wrote a chapter in the textbook "Nursing Care of Infants and Children." She has developed curricula on nursing principles and skills and medical-surgical nursing for the Oklahoma Department of Vocational and Technical Education. She has present papers on various topics in nursing at conferences and meetings across the country.
