RSU Foundation To Offer Free Planned Giving Seminar Dec. 12
Giving to your favorite charitable organization through estate planning is the topic of a planned giving seminar on Thursday, Dec. 12, at Rogers State University.
The planned giving seminar, offered by the RSU Foundation, will be led by Richard Streeter, financial planner; Bob Waters, Certified Public Accountant; and an attorney from the firm of Taylor, Burrage, Foster, Mallet, Downs and Ramsey.
The event will begin with lunch at 11:30 a.m. at the RSU Foundation and Alumni Center, the first building on the right at the main entrance of the RSU campus in Claremore. Guests also may participate in a tour of the RSU campus at 10:30 a.m.
The seminar will provide information on how to plan and structure a planned gift, such as wills and bequests, charitable remainder trusts, life insurance and retained life estates. The seminar also will focus on the tax advantages of planned giving and estate preservation.
There are a wide variety of options for planned giving," said Dr. Danette Boyle, RSU vice president for development. "Planned gifts can establish a permanent legacy in support of the donor's favorite charitable cause."
Those who designate planned estate gifts to the university will become members of the RSU Legacy Society, Boyle said.
The seminar is free and open to the public. Reservations are required. To register, or to get more information, call (918) 343-7773.
