RSU Announces Increase in Spring Enrollment
The number of students and the credit hours in which they are enrolled increased during the current spring semester compared to last spring at Rogers State University.
A total of 2,461 students enrolled at RSU for the current semester, up by 4.6 percent over last spring. In addition, the number of credit hours in which students have enrolled increased by 8.3 percent over last spring.
"The significant increase in credit hours indicates that more full-time students are enrolling at RSU – a trend we anticipated after making the transition to a four-year regional university," said RSU President Dr. Joe Wiley.
This semester, a total of 456 students are pursuing one of RSU's four new bachelor's degrees.
"We are very pleased with the number of students who have elected to take advantage of our bachelor's degree programs," Wiley said. "This is a tremendous response to our status as a four-year university and an indication that residents of this area are interested in pursuing a baccalaureate education at RSU."
The number of credit hours being taken by most categories of students has increased, including online students and concurrently enrolled high school students.
Last fall, RSU began offering bachelor's degrees in business information technology, applied technology, liberal arts, and social sciences. RSU also offers two-year associate's degrees in a variety of areas.
High school students and their parents are invited to "Destination RSU," a free event on college life, to be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, March 10, at RSU's Post Hall. To register, call 343-7546.
Applications for admission to RSU for the summer and fall 2001 semesters are currently being accepted. For more information, call 343-7546 or 1-800-256-7511.
