National Economist to Discuss Local Economy Mar. 23 During Claremore Area Manufacturer’s Summit

A noted national economic futurist will headline the Claremore Area Manufacturer’s Summit on March 23 at the Claremore Community Center.

Jeff Thredgold, author and nationally recognized authority on economic outlooks, will be sharing his insights during the summit, which will bring area manufacturing leaders together to learn, network and be recognized for their unique contributions to the local economy.

The Claremore Area Manufacturer’s Summit is a joint project between the Claremore Industrial and Economic Development Authority (CIEDA), Rogers State University and local manufacturing executives.

The summit’s morning schedule will feature learning sessions led by industry experts on global competition, business development financing, human resources and employee motivation. Session leaders include Roger Randle, former Tulsa mayor and current director for the University of Oklahoma’s Center for Culture and Democracy; Lisa Clark, rural development specialist with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce; Dale Kunneman, human resources director for Centrilift; Bill Webb, human resources director for Seaboteck Systems and council director for the Oklahoma Society of Human Resource Managers; and Larry Hoberock, director of Oklahoma State University’s New Product Development Center.

An evening banquet will include dinner, presentation of the Manufacturer of the Year award and Thredgold’s keynote talk regarding the future of the Claremore area local economy.

Thredgold is the author of the book, “Economy,” and is president of Thredgold Economic Associates, an economic consulting and professional speaking company based in Salt Lake City, Utah. He also has made many appearances on CNBC-TV, CNN and is quoted regularly in the nation’s financial press. In addition, Thredgold is a monthly contributor for the national publication, Blue Chip Financial Forecasts, and quarterly USA TODAY economic forecast surveys. He has been writing a weekly economic and financial newsletter, which is now entitled the Tea Leaf, for 30 years.

Attendance for the morning sessions is open to all area manufacturers, while the evening banquet is open to the public. Advance registration is requested.
