Irby Named New Media Specialist for RSU Innovation Center

Rogers State University has named Brandon Irby as the New Media Specialist for the Innovation Center. He will focus on integrating new media tools into strategic marketing plans for Innovation Center programs and clients throughout northeast Oklahoma.

An RSU alumnus, Irby joins the Innovation Center having most recently coordinating the career services office in the RSU Office of Student Affairs. During his time there, he developed and structured the launch of the department’s brand HireHillcats.com, launched its social media presence and increased student attendance at job fairs both on- and off-campus.

Irby previously has worked with small businesses and non-profits to utilize new media to reinforce existing marketing strategies. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communications from RSU, where he also studied graphic design. He currently is completing the New Media Specialist Certification through the National Center for Economic Gardening.

The RSU Innovation Center works to foster economic development and address the educational needs of both business and industry in northeast Oklahoma. The Innovation Center provides companies with support and resources to assist the growth from business concept to profitability. It also houses a business incubator program that provides advantages to start-ups, including close links to the university’s academic resources and on-site business assistance.
