INNOVATION CENTER

The rising cost of traditional energy, especially oil, has created a demand for alternative sources of energy including wind, solar, compressed natural gas (CNG), biodiesel, and ethanol. The Innovation Center at Rogers State University has received funds from the USDA to provide technical assistance to rural small businesses and producers who are considering the production or application of alternative energy sources to their enterprises.
Examples of eligible applicants include businesses that are considering conversion of truck fleets to CNG, installation of a public CNG filling station, or production of energy for use in their businesses from renewable sources such as solar, wind, or biomass. It could also include construction of a facility for the production of ethanol or biodiesel from a variety of possible feedstocks including used vegetable oil, yellow grease, woody biomass, or agricultural crops.
Through this grant, services will be available for free or at a reduced rate depending on the nature of the project.
The Innovation Center can also assist applicants that need to complete a feasibility study for some USDA loans or grants available through the Rural Energy for American Program.
