A portion of all examinations will be comprised of take-home examinations, which will be comprised of essay questions on which students will be expected to write an essay which demonstrates students' mastery of the assigned material. The instructor will post the take-home examinations at least two business days prior to the scheduled in-class examinations. Students are expected to print the take-home examination, check the box of the essay that they have selected, and signed the bottom of the page, signifying that the work they have submitted is their own and no one else's. Students should append (e.g. staple) this file to the front of their essay, which should be typewritten and conventionally formatted. I will be impressed if students include quotations from the text's authors and their subjects that make material contributions to the effectiveness of their essay's narrative.
