Rogers State University is home to the Oklahoma Iota Chapter of the Alpha Chi Academic Honor Society. Alpha Chi is a national, interdisciplinary honor society. Each semester the top 10% of eligible juniors and seniors at Rogers State University are invited to join. If you received an invitation to join Alpha Chi at RSU, congratulations! Membership in Alpha Chi is quite an honor, and you should be proud of your achievements. The first group of members were inducted in Spring 2006; the third group will be inducted in Fall 2007.
Alpha Chi recognizes and promotes scholarship and those elements of character that make scholarship "effective for good." I encourage you to accept membership in Alpha Chi not only for national recognition of your achievement but also for access to other benefits the society offers. At the induction ceremony, members will receive a certificate suitable for framing and a lapel pin. After induction, Alpha Chiís national office sends a wallet-sized membership card and information about other benefits members can access. Members are also eligible for local, regional, and national scholarships. In addition, members may apply to attend one of Alpha Chiís annual national or regional conventions.
Membership is by invitation only. Students must be ranked in the top 10% of the junior or senior class (by grade point average) to qualify. If you believe that you should have been selected (i.e., you have a GPA of 3.7 or above, are enrolled full-time at RSU, and have at least 90 hours completed), please contact Dr. Ford.
If you received an invitation to join, congratulations. The induction ceremony will be Thursday, November 15th in the Atrium of the Health Sciences building at 6 p.m. The program is designed to honor the students, and family and friends are welcome to attend as well.
