Syllabus Revisions

 Please note the following revisions in the syllabus.  The net effect is to reduce the total amount of work required of students.  There should be no adverse impact on any student's grade.

 Second Data Base Exercise

The second Data Base Exercise, valued at 50 points and included in the final exam, is deleted from the course.

Discussion Leadership

The discussion leadership requirement, valued at 50 points, is deleted from the course.  (Lost class time due to bad weather early in the semester made this unworkable.)

Points and Grades

Because 100 points have been deleted from the class, the points need to gain a particular grade have changed.

90‑100% (630-700) ‑ A        Excellent

80‑89%   (560-629) ‑ B        Very Good

70‑79%   (490-559) ‑ C        Competent

60‑69%   (420-489) ‑ D        Deficient

< 60%     (000-419) ‑ F         Inadequate

 Missed Class Penalty

 Because fewer points are available, the deduction for class absences is reduced from 10 points to 5.
