READING GUIDELINES

The links below may be helpful to you in your reading.  You will find objectives, key terms, and questions for discussion.  These are not assignments you need to turn in, but they can be useful.  For example, one way to see whether you have mastered a chapter is to ask yourself whether you have met the objectives.  Another way is to consider how you might respond to one or more of the discussion questions  Still another option is to see whether you can define a key term in your own words, and then write a sentence that uses that term.

Important Update on First ExamMaterials that are included in the required work for the first exam were distributed in class on Monday September 24.  Additional materials are to be distributed in class on Wednesday September 26.  All students are expected to become familiar with these materials and to incorporate at least some of them in the required take-home essay. If you do not have all of these materials, you can obtain them from the office of the Political Science and History Department, during regular business hours.  This office is located on the Lower Level of the Auditorium.  The essay deadline and the exam date remain unchanged.
