Dr. Mary Mackie received a doctoral degree in English from the University of Oklahoma,
and a master's degree in Creative Writing and Literature from Rivier College in Nashua, N.H.
She holds bachelor's
degrees in both philosophy and English, from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell
and Russell Sage College in Troy, N.Y., respectively. Her teaching interests include
fiction and poetry writing, 20th century American and Native American literature, American drama,
memoir and playwriting. She spends summers at writers colonies, most
recently at the Writers' Colony at Dairy Hollow, in Eureka Springs,
Arkansas. Her articles, stories, and poems have appeared in The Lowell
Pearl, Windmill, California Quarterly, and Vermont
Review. Presently,
she is working on a short story collection, Headline News, while
revising her novel, Whose Woods These Are. |
