Faculty & Staff
- Why should I provide my emergency contact information?
Having information enables you to make choices regarding your personal safety. Providing your cell phone and other contact information ensures that you will receive the latest information in the event of an emergency or weather-related event.
- Will I be charged for text messages?
You will be charged for text messages only if your provider charges you to receive text messages.
- I signed up for text messages, why am I still getting phone calls?
Cell phone service providers distribute text messages in batches, sometimes with a significant time delay. For your safety, RSU uses all modes of communication to reach you in an emergency.
- Will my contact information be published?
No, the contact information you provide us will not be shared with any other party and will only be used by the university to notify you in the event of an emergency.
