‘Destination RSU’ on Saturday, March 2

RSU To Offer FreeEvent on College Life For High School Studentsand Parents

High schoolstudents and their parents can learn aboutcollege life, selecting a major, and applyingfor financial aid and scholarships at RogersState University’s “Destination RSU: CollegeDay 2002” on Saturday, March 2.

The event,which is free and open to the public, will beheld from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon at RSU’s maincampus in Claremore.

In addition,prospective students will be able to spend thenight in RSU’s new student residence hall onFriday – the night before the event.”Overnight Friday” will feature special eventsfor prospective students including dinner, amovie and other social activities.

“Overnight Friday”will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, March 1, at RSU’snew student residence hall, located on thewest side of the Claremore campus.

“DestinationRSU” will begin with registration and freecontinental breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at PostHall.

“This specialevent is designed to help students and parentsin making important decisions about attendingcollege and taking advantage of the widevariety of scholarship and financial aidopportunities available at RSU,” said BeckyNoah, RSU Director of Enrollment Management.

RSU President Dr.Joe Wiley will address high school students,their parents, and their families at 9 a.m.

“Destination RSU”will feature two breakout sessions at 9:30a.m. and 10:15 a.m. for prospective studentsand their parents. Topics will include collegelife, applying for admission and financialaid, and taking advantage of the many studentsupport services and activities at RSU. Thesessions will be held at various locations onRSU’s Claremore campus.

Guided tours ofthe historic Claremore campus will be providedthroughout the morning.

Facultyadvisors from each of RSU’s academic schoolswill be available to meet one-on-one withstudents and parents to answer questions aboutchoosing a major and enrolling in the rightclasses.

Two RSUscholarships will be awarded as door prizes.

At 11 a.m., acomplimentary lunch will be served at PostHall overlooking Douglas Lake for all studentsand their families.

Tours of RSU’snew student residence hall will be givenimmediately following the event.
