Rogers State University was born on Jan. 1, 1999, with Joe Wiley taking Rodger Randle’s place in the president’s office.

A year later, RSU was offering its first bachelor’s-degree programs.

Intercollegiate sports returned to the campus in 2006, with a new collective team nickname: the Hillcats.
