Linda Barron
Interim Director
Linda is the founder of Bit by Bit and has been involved in the education of individuals with special needs for the past thirty years. Linda has been a classroom teacher and special services director with area public schools. Linda began the Bit by Bit program at Rogers State in 1998. The program’s first location was in the Ranch and Horse Management building on the main campus before relocating to the present site. Linda has a master’s degree in special education and an extensive equine background. Linda is married to Brad; they have four sons and four great daughter-in-laws and are the proud grandparents of 13 grandchildren.

Kyla Somerville
Lead Instructor
Kyla hails from Long Island, NY where she grew up riding and competing in hunter seat equitation. She is a graduate of the State University of New York at Cobleskill where she earned her AAS in Equine Science, as well as St. Joseph’s College where she earned her BA in Speech-Language Pathology. Her focus is on speech and language disorders and she hopes to continue on to graduate school and eventually become a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in hippotherapy. Kyla has been teaching riding lessons for 12 years and teaching therapeutic riding lessons for 7 years. She earned her PATH International certification in 2009. She holds herself accountable to PATH’s highest standards and continues to strive towards being a better resource for her students and the program.

Stephanie Peck
Program Assistant
Stephanie grew up in Tennessee competing in three-day eventing as a member of her local Pony Club. At the University of Tennessee-Martin she studied natural resources management and rode hunt seat for the Skyhawks on the NCAA equestrian team. Stephanie currently heads the Barn Buddies program at Bit by Bit and is working to become a registered instructor with PATH International.
