Artist registration remains open until Sept. 11 for the upcoming Art on the Hill art festival and sale at Rogers State University.

This is the fifth year for the Art on the Hill event, which has expanded to three days on the Claremore campus on Sept. 18-20. The event will showcase works of noted Oklahoma artists and seeks to cultivate student talents throughout northeastern Oklahoma. The event is also open to area artists, and the artist participation fee is $60, with $20 from each entry fee going directly to student scholarships. No commission will be taken from art sales.

Art on the Hill will feature tented venues on the campus lawn to offer visitors opportunities to stroll through the art exhibits, experience live art demonstrations, see theatre productions, participate in children’s activities and enjoy music. As always, the event is will be free and open to the public thanks to the generous support of donors, including the Oklahoma Arts Council and Cherokee Casino Will Rogers Downs.

Event proceeds help fund fine arts scholarships for area students attending RSU.

Art on the Hill also will feature works from artists from area elementary, junior high or high schools. Teachers or parents may complete the entry forms online. There will be no cost for young artists to display their work, which will not be part of the sale.
