Academic Tuition Waivers for scholastic achievement are based on ACT scores and GPA. Academic scholarships are awarded based on applicant’s eligibility, date of admission and enrollment. Awarding will continue while funding permits.

Please Note: Application for Admission serves as the application for an Academic Tuition Waiver.

Students must meet all scholarship requirements to be awarded.

  • Students must be U.S. citizens
  • Students must be Oklahoma residents
  • Students must be enrolled as a full-time degree seeking student
  • Students must be first-time incoming Freshman
  • Students must fill out and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Scholarship Renewal Requirements

Upon expiration of the Freshman Progressive, Departmental Freshman, Valedictorian, Salutatorian or Bridge scholarships, students will be considered for the next level scholarship (see Current or Transfer students).

  • Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time degree seeking student
  • Must successfully complete a minimum of 24 credit hours each academic year
  • Must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each academic year

Available Scholarships

Academic Excellence Scholarship
Award Amount: $2,000 per year ($1,000 per semester).
Eligibility: Students must receive an ACT score of 26 or 27 and have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher. Giving to students with outstanding academic achievement and who demonstrate potential for success in college.
Requirements: This scholarship is used toward tuition only and is awarded for a period of 4 years pending eligibility.
Academic Merit Scholarship
Award Amount: $1,500 per year ($750 per semester).
Eligibility: Students must have achieved a 24 or 25 on the ACT and have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher. This scholarship honors a student’s hard work and academic achievement in high school.
Requirements: This scholarship is used toward tuition only and is awarded for a period of 4 years pending eligibility.
Freshmen Departmental Scholarship
Award Amount: Varies based on high school class rank.
Eligibility: Awarded to outstanding students who have graduated in the top 20%, 10%, or 5% of their high school class.
Requirements: All recipients must also have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Freshman Departmental scholarship is used towards tuition only and is awarded for a period of two years. After the two year period students will be eligible to apply for another scholarship.
Freshman Progressive Scholarship
Award Amount: Varies based on ACT score.
Eligibility: Students who score a 19-21 on the ACT and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Requirements: The Freshman Progressive scholarship is used toward tuition only and is awarded for a period of two years pending eligibility. After the two year period students will be eligible to apply for another scholarship.
General Academic Scholarship
Award Amount: $1,000 per year ($500 per semester).
Eligibility: Students must score a 22 or 23 on the ACT and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
 Requirements:  This scholarship is used toward tuition only and is awarded for a period of 4 years pending eligibility.
President’s Scholarship
Award Amount: Up to 2,500 per year (up to $1,250 per semester).
Offered by: The president of the university.
Eligibility: Student must have an ACT score of 28 or 29 and a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Requirements: The President’s Scholarship is used toward tuition only and is awarded for the period of 4 years pending eligibility.
Salutatorian Scholarship
Award Amount: $1,500 per year ($750 per semester).
Eligibility: Awarded to students who have graduated Salutatorian of their class.
Requirements: The Salutatorian scholarship is used toward tuition only and is awarded for a period of two years pending eligibility.   After the two year period students will be eligible to apply for another scholarship.
Valedictorian Scholarship
Award Amount: $2,000 per year ($1,000 per semester).
Eligibility: Awarded to students who have graduated Valedictorian of their class.
Requirements: The Valedictorian scholarship is used toward tuition only and is awarded for a period of two years pending eligibility. After the two year period students will be eligible to apply for another scholarship.

Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) Scholarships

OSRHE Academic Scholars (Automatic Qualifier)
Award Amount: $4,000 from the Oklahoma State Board of Regents and a tuition waiver from Rogers State University of up to $3,000 per year (up to $1,500 per semester)
Offered by: The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and Rogers State University.
Eligibility: students must score in the 99.5 percentile or above on the ACT or achieve status as National Merit Scholars, National Merit Finalists, or Presidents Scholars.
Requirements: Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25+ and complete at least 24 college credit hours per year, 30 college credit hours if taking the option of summer funding. This scholarship is awarded for four years pending eligibility. Separate application required to be considered, application available on the Oklahoma State Board of Regents website.
Transferable: This award may be transferred from four-year institution in Oklahoma to another four-year institution in Oklahoma after one year; or from a two-year institution in Oklahoma to a four-year institution in Oklahoma after completion of an associate degree or at least 48 credit hours within their first two academic years at any combination of two-year colleges in the State System.
OSRHE Academic Scholars
Award Amount: $2,000 from the Oklahoma State Board of Regents and a tuition waiver from Rogers State University of up to $3,000 per year (up to $1,500 per semester).
Offered by: The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and Rogers State University.
Eligibility: Students who receive a National ACT score of 30+ or who achieve a GPA of at least a 3.8 and a class rank in the top 4%.
Requirements: Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25+ and complete at least 24 college credit hours per year. This scholarship is awarded for four years pending eligibility.
Transferable: This award may be transferred from four-year institution in Oklahoma to another four-year institution in Oklahoma after one year; or from a two-year institution in Oklahoma to a four-year institution in Oklahoma after completion of an associate degree or at least 48 credit hours within their first two academic years at any combination of two-year colleges in the State System.
Regional University Baccalaureate Scholarship
Award Amount: $3,000 from the Oklahoma State Board of Regents and a tuition waiver from Rogers State University of up to $3,000 per year (up to $1,500 per semester).
Offered by: The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and Rogers State University.
Eligibility: Students with superior academic performance receiving a National ACT score of 30+, be a National Merit Semifinalist, or Commended Student.
Requirements: Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25+ and complete at least 24 college credit hours per year. This scholarship is awarded for four years pending eligibility.
Non-transferable: This scholarship may only be used at the university making the award.
