As the Baby Boomer generation ages, Americans will need an increasing amount of health care. This coupled with the number of nurses retiring each year sets the stage for a national nursing shortage.
In April 2006, Health Resources and Services Administration officials reported that the nation’s nursing shortage would grow to more than one million by the year 2020.
RSU is well positioned to educate nurses and help alleviate the nursing shortfall in the United States. The program’s academic rigor and reputation help RSU graduates succeed in the nursing field in Oklahoma and across the country.
The program’s solid reputation gives RSU graduates an edge in the competitive job market and many students are recruited for top jobs at hospitals and medical facilities in the Tulsa area and surrounding communities.
