Department of Health Sciences
Highlights
We prepare students to achieve personal and professional goals
We educate safe and competent beginning practitioners in selected health fields
The department offers a Bachelor's and Associate of Applied Science degree programs with majors in Nursing and Emergency Medical Services.

Two associate of applied science degrees (AAS) are offered.  One AAS degree is in Emergency Medical Services and the other is in nursing. The department also offers a nursing bridge option to licensed paramedics and Licensed Practical Nurses as an avenue for acceleration toward Registered Nurse licensure. This nursing bridge option leads to a nursing AAS degree.

The Bachelor of Science Nursing Program provides an opportunity for any licensed registered nurse educated at the associate degree or diploma level to achieve advanced academic and personal goals and to develop stronger clinical reasoning and analytical skills to advance their careers.

Rogers State University is a recognized leader in meeting the educational needs of Oklahoma’s health care community. The AAS students in nursing and emergency medical services are prepared to take their respective national licensing exams and enter the health care profession soon after graduation. Registered nurses with baccalaureate degrees are sought by many professional practice settings which prefer this level of preparation for specific nursing roles, particularly those that involve community health or nursing management.
