Humanities

Offered through the Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts degree, an option in Humanities explores the wide variety of cultural opportunities facing a global citizen of the twenty-first century. 

Drawing heavily on the interdisciplinary tradition of the liberal arts this degree offers students the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills through a number of liberal arts disciplines. 

Students may take courses in:

• ART 3013 - Western Art History
• HUM 4413 - Women in Literary and Visual Arts
• PHIL 1313 - Values and Ethics
• HUM 3113 Studies in African American  --OR--  HUM 3213 Studies in Latin American Culture
• HUM 3343 - Sports in the Humanities
• and others

Many Students in the Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree are also active in RSU theatre and music productions. 

Additionally, students may submit work to the department’s literary magazine the Cooweescoowee.
