Deciding Your Major and Minor Just Got Easier
By student Kyle Olson
Finding the right classes that fit you best can be a stressful thing to do. That’s until you check out the Psychology, Sociology, and Criminal Justice Department. The department offers so many greas courses that are fun and get you ready for what some call "the real world.”
Dr. Kevin Woller is an associate professor in the department and he knows that this is a great opportunity you do not want to miss. "The psych department offers a variety of baccalaureate and associate degrees that gets you involved in health and medical services, criminal justice and law enforcement, and social services.”
But if you are already set on a major, don’t worry because the department also offers a minor. This is great for students like junior Melissa Cottrell. "I really didn’t know what to major in, but then I talked to my advisor and she suggested psychology. It is something I love and I don’t have to change majors.”
Dr. Woller knows choosing your major and minor isn’t easy for incoming freshmen, "When you come to RSU, really check out the Psychology, Sociology, and Criminal Justice Department. We offe so much that you can take a long way.”
There is also great news for aspiring teachers, because RSU recently added an elementary education degree. "So far, so good with the elementary education courses, students are really enjoying those courses,” Dr. Woller says.
Seek your advisor and enroll as soon as possible! Make sure you take a close look at the Psychology, Sociology, and Criminal Justice Department.
