Radio & Television

Many of our graduates are employed by area television and radio stations in a variety of roles.

Courses include:

  • news reporting
  • audio production
  • video production
  • media law

Students receive hands-on training as:

  • camera operators
  • floor directors
  • audio operators
  • graphics operators

Student can develop their own projects including news, features stories, and promotions with station equipment. Advanced students may work on high-definition digital productions. Students learn not only the theory, but also the practice of electronic media production.

RSU Radio   RSU Public Television

RSU Radio is a 3,000-watt student and volunteer-operated radio station on the RSU campus.

No other university in the state provides the same level of extensive hands on experience to students by providing them with state-of-the-art audio and computer equipment to enhance their announcing and interviewing skills.

 

Students can gain valuable experience by working at RSU Public Television – the only public television station on a university campus in Oklahoma.

Features include a state-of-the-art control room, video production suites and a three-camera studio.

RSU Public TV is a full-power, high-definition station that reaches more than 1 million viewers across Oklahoma and surrounding states.
